Contracts signed at sea
There are few places more appropriate than the harbour when signing an agreement with the Þyt Sailing Club. The Mayor of Hafnarfjörður, Haraldur L. Haraldsson, and Pétur Th. Pétursson, chairman of the sailing club, signed two partnership agreements in the harbour in Hafnarfjörður this week.
On the one hand, a service contract which includes a grant to run activities for children and young people, and on the other, an operating agreement whereby the town provides support for the running of the premises, the maintenance of boats, and the upkeep of the club's building. Thyt's activities are in full swing, and the club's boats fill the harbour, bringing it to life most days this summer. A strong volunteer effort is the cornerstone of the club's operations, and the City of Hafnarfjörður hopes that this support will further strengthen its work.
