Kit and Cosplay workshops for one of the country's biggest costume festivals.
The costume and games convention 'Heima and the Heavens' will be held from 29th to 31st August. Preparations are underway. Costumes can be made in the library's workshops. Around 4,000 people attended the first festival, which was held last year.

„Think outside the box. Come and give it a go. How about daring to do it for one weekend?“ asks Unnur Helga Möller, Events Manager at Hafnarfjörður Library. She is organising this year's Heima og himingeimi costume and games gathering, just as she did last year.
Worlds and Worlds Beyond will be held for the second time at the library from 29th to 31st August. This is a three-day event with over fifteen workshops and activities. You will be able to experience and take part in three worlds. The programme is jam-packed, and it can be said that this has already become the country's biggest fancy dress festival. The festival is an adventure.
Costume workshops up to the festival
In the run-up to the festival, costume-making workshops, so-called Kit and Cosplay workshops, will be held. There you can sew your own costume for the festival and get help with it. „Bring your own material,“ says Unnur. Next workshop is on Tuesday, 12th August from 5 pm to 6.45 pm at the library. They will then take place weekly until the festival and have been well attended so far this summer. But Special fancy dress workshop for children will be on Saturday, 16th August between 1 pm and 3 pm.
„Children are welcome at Heima and Himingeimi when accompanied by an adult, but the festival itself is intended for those aged 14 and over,“ says Unnur, who, along with her team, has prepared an even more spectacular festival than last year. No wonder. They expected 1,000 guests last year but got 4,000.

Fantasy worlds at the festival
„I don't realise how many are coming this year, but I imagine it's between 3,000 and 7,000,“ she says. But what is on offer at the festival itself? For example:
