Kiljuhjal is a podcast hosted by Kolbrún María Másdóttir and Lára Debarúnu Árnadóttir. The friends shine a light on books by women, and the idea behind Kiljuhjal is to create a kind of book club in the form of a podcast, with the aim of encouraging young people to read. Kiljuhjal began a partnership with Storytel in June and ran a fantastic giveaway sponsored by them.
They had some fun guests.
The episodes are based on conversation, but the friends read several books over the summer and then discussed them, just like in a book club. They also had some fun guests, who all share a love of reading, including a literary scholar, an author, and friends. In addition, they offer some suggestions on how to read more, book routines, and why it's important to read more. The podcast is therefore varied and informative, and we strongly encourage you to listen and follow. In total, they released seven podcast episodes this summer, which can be listened to for free on Spotify. The latest episode was released on 29th July.

About Creative Summer Jobs 2022
In the summer of 2021, the City of Hafnarfjörður, in collaboration with the city's youth centre, Hamarinn, decided to revive the “Creative Summer Jobs” project, which had been run in the summer of 2017. Individuals and groups aged 18-20 were also invited to submit ideas for creative projects in Hafnarfjörður. Selected groups were given the opportunity to work on various creative projects in different areas of the arts, which would also enliven the town's social life and delight tourists and residents in one way or another. The staff of Creative Summer Jobs, run as part of the Hafnarfjörður Summer School, are tasked with bringing the town to life, making it more fun, beautiful and diverse with artistic and creative events. The projects are varied and appeal to different age groups and interests. Klara Ósk Elíasdóttir is the project manager for Creative Summer Jobs.
