Work on the development of Hafnarfjörður's education strategy is in full swing, and a second meeting with the town's education leaders was held this week. Proposals for the key elements that will underpin the strategy were discussed, among other things.
Work on developing Hafnarfjörður's education policy is in full swing, and the second meeting with the city's education leaders was held on Thursday, 27 February at the Scout Centre on Hraunbrún. Among other things, proposals for the key elements that will underpin the new education strategy were discussed.
The educational leaders of Hafnarfjörður are representatives from all the town's nursery, primary and secondary schools, along with representatives from the Hafnarfjörður Music School. Enthusiastic and dynamic people who take an active part with great ambition. At the education leaders' meeting, the proposals put forward by the leaders themselves were worked on; these were identified as the key elements that will underpin the education strategy. These proposals will be discussed within the school community during the spring. The proposals are primarily concerned with what an education policy should include in order to create a school community where success, learning, well-being and the welfare of future generations are the cornerstones.
On the education policy of Hafnarfjörður and the work that is taking place
Over the past few months, a great deal of work and professional dialogue has taken place between all stakeholders in the development of the City of Hafnarfjörður's education strategy. The education strategy is to be in harmony with the current laws and regulations governing learning, teaching, leisure activities, and the general well-being and development of children and young people in Hafnarfjörður. The education strategy is developed in the spirit of a learning community and is intended to reflect the expectations of pupils, staff and residents regarding learning, well-being, and the empowerment of the individual to fulfil their needs to grow and thrive in society. The education strategy is also intended to promote significant changes and meaningful innovations as part of positive school development.
