Hafnarfjörður has entered into an agreement with Dale Carnegie for training young people. The course will be held at the Menntasetrið við Lækinn and is for young people aged 13 to 15 (Year 9 to 11) who live in Hafnarfjörður. Free taster sessions are available both in-person and live online.

A challenging and fun course for our young people.
This is a challenging and enjoyable course that encourages initiative, develops leadership skills and boosts participants' self-confidence. Having a positive self-image and self-belief has never been more important than it is today, with ever-increasing peer comparison. On this course, young people learn to understand themselves better, set goals and develop skills aimed at achieving their objectives.

- Training in public speaking and improving your expression.
- Strengthening self-confidence and self-awareness
- Effective methods for daring to take the initiative in communication and deepening relationships
- The value of being more diligent and putting in the effort
- Methods that help with positivity
- Ways in which praise and encouragement can have a positive effect on the self and others

Arrangement:
The course is once a week, 3.5 hours at a time for 8 sessions and one session in
2.5 hours of follow-up. The course starts on 23 September 2020. The price is kr. 79,000, which is 30% lower due to an agreement with the City of Hafnarfjörður. The leisure grant can be used to pay for the course. Payment by instalments is available. The fee also includes a handbook and supplementary materials.
