The annual National Dental Care Week is currently underway, organised by the Office of the National Commissioner for Health and the Icelandic Dental Association. To mark the occasion, a new dental health dashboard has been published on the website of the Office of the National Commissioner for Health. The dashboard is interactive and displays statistical information on the number of fillings among children who attend regular check-ups with their dentist.

The annual dental health week is currently underway, organised by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer and the Icelandic Dental Association. To mark the occasion, a new Dental health dashboard The dashboard is interactive and displays statistical information on the number of dental fillings among children who attend regular check-ups with their family dentist. 

The cost of general dentistry is paid by the National Health Service. 

The dashboard is based on data from the National Insurance Fund of Iceland and the data go back to 2005. The aim is to update the dashboard annually. During Dental Health Week, parents and guardians are advised that the cost of general dental care for children is covered by the National Insurance of Iceland, with the exception of an annual attendance fee of 2,500 kr., which is payable no more than once every 12-month period. During Dental Health Week, managers of nurseries, primary and secondary schools are encouraged to focus on education, discussions and events related to teeth and dental health. Educational materials and videos on dental care can be accessed at landlaeknir.is and Health website. Companies that import and sell dental care products are encouraged to use National Dental Care Week to promote their products. Store managers are also encouraged to offer discounts on dental care products and healthy food during Dental Care Week, and at the same time, to withdraw discounts on sweets and fizzy drinks.
