Hafnarfjörður is seeking planning designers for planned detailed planning work within its municipal boundaries.

Hafnarfjörður is seeking planning designers for a planned detailed planning process within the town's boundaries. The areas in question are diverse. The aim is to densify the town's built-up areas within existing neighbourhoods where land is available. The main objective is to promote better use of land for residential development, whilst adhering to the unique character of each neighbourhood. Furthermore, the detailed planning of new residential and industrial areas is also being undertaken.

Applicants must have completed a master's degree in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning or a comparable discipline, and have experience in planning for projects similar to the one in question. Furthermore, the applicant must be licensed in accordance with Articles 25 and 26 of the Building Regulations Act No. 160/2010. If an application is made by a group, at least one member of the group must meet the above-mentioned requirements.

All applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be considered, and their participation will be determined by a draw. Whenever work on a detailed plan can commence, a draw will be held from the pool of participants to ensure diversity and equal opportunities. A draw will only be held among participants who have not yet been awarded a project from a previous draw.

Applicants should send information and documentation demonstrating that the eligibility requirements are met to Thormóður Sveinsson, Planning Officer for the City of Hafnarfjörður. thormodur@hafnarfjordur.is by 27 September 2017 at the latest.

The results for the participants are expected to be available a week later.
