Disruption to school activities

Wind and rain can delay pupils' journeys to school in the early morning. Schools are open, but it is important that parents ensure younger children do not go to school alone; this is especially true in the upper areas and where children need to cross open spaces on their way to school. 

The fire and police services in the capital region issued the following statement this morning: 

Weather warning. Wind and rain can delay pupils' journeys to school in the morning. Schools are open, but it is important that parents ensure younger children do not go to school alone; this is especially true in higher areas and where children need to cross open spaces on their way to school. Announcement. Due to weather conditions this morning, disruptions to school services may be expected today. Schools are open but parents and guardians are asked to escort children under the age of 12 to school.
