Disruption to school activities
Wind and rain can delay pupils' journeys to school in the early morning. Schools are open, but it is important that parents ensure younger children do not go to school alone; this is especially true in the upper areas and where children need to cross open spaces on their way to school.
The fire and police services in the capital region issued the following statement this morning:

Schools are open, but it is important that parents ensure younger children do not go to school alone; this is especially true in higher areas and where children need to cross open spaces on their way to school.
