Cooperation between Planitor and the City of Hafnarfjörður

Hafnarfjörður municipality and the software company Planitor have entered into a service agreement for the provision of minutes and monitoring services for users of planning and building services. Applicants can now receive automatic email notifications on the progress of their applications as they are considered at meetings of the Planning and Building Committee, at processing meetings of the Planning and Building Officer, by the Council's Executive Committee and by the Council. Applicants can tick a box on their application on My Pages if they wish to monitor their case.

Another innovation in this collaboration is that Planitor now disseminates the minutes of the town's aforementioned councils and committees through the company's centralised minutes and information portal on planitor.io. Detailed information and links are published there, more than has previously been seen in the dissemination of minutes on the town's website, including a link to coordinates, thumbnails of PDF pages, a map of other matters in the local area and a link to skra.is and the Planning Authority's planning viewer where applicable.

Hafnarfjörður is a progressive municipality in digital development and information dissemination, and this collaboration is part of further strengthening that development. The start-up company Planitor is a software company that specialises in solutions for planning and building matters in Iceland.

„We are delighted to be able to offer these innovations in the important area of planning and building control. It can be complex to keep track of progress, so any automation is a positive development that improves the communication of information. Our aim is to support innovation and offer digital innovations in our service. The collaboration with Planitor is good and an important step on our journey,“, says Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir, the mayor.

“We at Planitor are grateful for the support for innovation in the field of planning and construction that the City of Hafnarfjörður shows in practice with this service agreement. Planitor's solutions are focused on increasing oversight of this important area, and on enhancing transparency and service for applicants through automated and digital solutions.”, says Guðmundur Kristján Jónsson, managing director of Planitor.
