The Head Gardener, on behalf of the City of Hafnarfjörður, is looking for any fir trees that may have outlived their usefulness for garden owners. The city will send staff and equipment to remove the tree, and the entire service is provided free of charge to residents.
The tree serves as a source of joy during the Christmas festivities.
The Head Gardener for the City of Hafnarfjörður is looking for fir trees that may have finished their purpose in private gardens. As many people know, fir trees can become very tall and wide, and often take up a considerable amount of space in home gardens. Residents often have problems with these trees, and it is often costly for the homeowner to have them removed. It was therefore decided to kill two birds with one stone by offering such an exchange. The council will send staff and equipment to remove the tree, and the service is completely free of charge for residents. The benefits are for all of us: the tree serves as a festive delight, the resident gains more space in their garden, and once Advent is over, the tree is used for woodchip in the town's grounds.
The tree must be at least 5 metres high.
The conditions are that the tree has reached a height of at least five metres, that its growth is good, i.e. that the tree is well-branched all the way around, and that it is easy to get to in order to fell it at ground level. The trees will be erected at pre-determined locations between 1 November and 17 November.
