For your information, the City of Hafnarfjörður would like to draw special attention to the fact that it does not collect Christmas trees from residents after the Christmas period. It is noted that some sports clubs and voluntary organisations offer a door-to-door collection service for a fee as part of their fundraising.
Notice regarding Christmas trees
The City of Hafnarfjörður would like to draw special attention to the fact that it does not collect Christmas trees from residents after the Christmas period. This decision was made at a meeting of the Environment and Operations Committee on 21 September 2016, and Christmas trees have not been collected from residents' properties since then.
It is noted that sports clubs and charities are now offering a service to deliver Christmas trees to your door on a specified day for a fee, as part of their fundraising. We encourage interested parties to look into this service.
