The 2016 'Theory and Multiculturalism' conference will take place at the University of Iceland this coming Saturday. The conference aims to share and build further knowledge in the field of multiculturalism.
The development and growth of the Icelandic multicultural community
The 2016 'Theory and Multiculturalism' conference will take place at the University of Iceland on Saturday, 6 February, from 10:00 to 14:30. The conference aims to share and build further knowledge in the field of multiculturalism. The conference will, among other things, discuss how the Icelandic academic and professional community can work more closely together to increase knowledge in this field, and how the University of Iceland can contribute to the general societal debate. The conference is open to academics, professionals, students and anyone interested in multiculturalism, and presentations will be given in both Icelandic and English.
The conference papers will address, among other things, social services, healthcare and employment participation, education, child-rearing, sport and leisure, history, religion, culture and languages, the social sciences, law, economics, business and politics. They will be delivered in numerous seminars, each with a specific theme. Presentations will be given by both students and lecturers from the University of Iceland, along with numerous members of the conference's organising committee and others from the community.
