Einar Bárðarson appointed Communications Manager

Einar Bárðarson has been appointed Communications Manager for the City of Hafnarfjörður, but this is a fixed-term appointment. He and Andri Ómarsson, Events Project Manager, will work closely together on internal and external communications, internal information dissemination, advertising, public relations and events.

Einar Bárðarson has been appointed Communications Manager for the City of Hafnarfjörður, in a temporary role from 1 August until 31 August 2018. Einar is the former managing director of Reykjavik Excursions and director of the Capital Region Tourist Board. For the past few years, he has worked as an independent consultant in the tourism industry.

In his role as the municipality's Communications Manager, Einar will be responsible for media relations and cooperation. oversee advertising and promotional material, handle strategy and coordination in information and tourism matters where his expertise in the travel industry will hopefully be put to good use, as well as advising the mayor and other staff on communications and information provision. Einar will temporarily take over the responsibilities of Árdís Ármannsdóttir, who is going on maternity leave. Already, changes have been made with Andri Ómarsson, a project manager in the administrative department, taking over event-related projects, and they will work closely together on internal and external communications, internal information sharing, advertising, public relations and events. Einar will start in early August.
