Minigrants for culture and the arts during Advent

Would you like to help spread some Christmas cheer during Advent?

The City of Hafnarfjörður is inviting applications for micro-grants for cultural activities during Advent. To support artists and culture from Hafnarfjörður, a portion of the funding for the Christmas Village in Hafnarfjörður will be allocated to various projects taking place during Advent 2021. Applications are invited for any type of performance, experience or entertainment that can enrich the festive atmosphere in the Christmas town during Advent. It is important that the projects appeal to a broad audience and are enjoyed by many.

The application deadline is 15 November 2021.

Written applications for micro-grants should be sent to the email address jolathorp@hafnarfjordur.is under the headline: Application for a micro-grant by 23:59 on Monday, 15 November. The allocation is expected to be completed by 26 November.

The application must state: Applicant's name, National Insurance number, email address, telephone number, details of the project for which a grant is being sought and a simple cost estimate. Consideration will be given to Regulations of the Culture and Tourism Committee of Hafnarfjörður on grants for cultural activities. It is best to combine the application with all documents into a single PDF file.

The Christmas Village is a local event that encapsulates the Christmas spirit in Hafnarfjörður, and a visit to the Christmas Village, along with its museums, shops, cafés and restaurants, is an important and essential part of many people's Christmas preparations. Every year during Advent, a large and diverse group of artists performs in the Christmas village and elsewhere in Hafnarfjörður with all kinds of acts, and we are now looking for creative and entertaining individuals and groups with ideas for pop-up events, shows and projects that are designed to promote culture and enliven the social life of Hafnarfjörður during Advent.
