Wednesday, 22 February at 2 pm We welcome guests to the next event Perspectives, educational sessions for older people, at Hafnarborg. Then a museum specialist will talk about the exhibition. Joking, where a selection of works by the artist Sóley Eiríksdóttir (1957-1994) can be seen: sculptures, ceramics and two-dimensional works.
At the beginning of her career, Sóley worked mainly on traditional pottery, which can be considered utilitarian art, but in the latter half of the 1980s, drawings and imagery that had previously adorned the artist's vases and bowls took on a life of their own in larger, three-dimensional works made of concrete.
Perspective is a programme that began at Hafnarborg in spring 2022. The museum focuses on giving everyone the opportunity to experience culture and the arts, and offers guided tours for all age groups. The aim is to provide an insight into the activities of Hafnarborg, current exhibitions or unique works from the collection through monthly events during the winter season. Coffee and refreshments are offered after the programme.
Free admission – see you at Hafnarborg.
