Hafnarborg invites primary school children in Hafnarfjörður to come and take part in creative art workshops run by the museum during the winter holidays on 20th and 21st October. The workshops are open to all children and their families who want to let their creativity flow and enjoy working with a variety of materials. Each workshop will have its own theme, so you are welcome to take part on one or both days.

Halloween Tote Bag Workshop
Monday 20 October, 1 pm - 3 pm

In this creative workshop, participants will have the opportunity to play with colours and design their own tote bag. The bag can be decorated, drawn on or painted according to your own ideas, and can then be used on Halloween – when going trick-or-treating or playing a trick – or for other autumn activities.

The Multilingual Forest School (Escola Florestal)
Tuesday 21 October, 1 pm - 3 pm

Artists Fernanda Fajardo and Anne Rombach are leading an art workshop for families in Icelandic, Portuguese, Spanish, English and German. Participants will draw inspiration from the forest and create creatures from leaves, branches and other natural materials in the spirit of autumn. The workshop is held in connection with the museum's 'In My Language' programme.

The workshops take place in the Pharmacy on the first floor of the museum, and children are advised to be accompanied by an adult. As usual, participation in the art workshops is free of charge for visitors, as is admission to the museum's exhibitions. You are very welcome.
