Hafnarborg invites primary school children in Hafnarfjörður to come and take part in creative art workshops run by the museum during the winter school holidays on the 19th and 20th of February. The workshops are open to anyone who wants to let their creativity flow and enjoy working with a variety of materials. Each workshop will have its own focus, so you are welcome to take part on one or both days.

Let's make flowers
Thursday, 19 February, 1 pm - 3 pm

In the workshop, participants draw inspiration from the exhibition of Eggert Pétursson, Red, where colours, organic forms and a close connection with nature are the focus. As a result, we create small and beautiful flowers from delicate wire and pearls, working with line, form and balance in a playful and imaginative way.

Sketch workshop
Friday 20 February, 1 pm - 3 pm

Author and illustrator Atla Hrafney will guide participants into the world of comics, where we will try our hand at creating our own characters, telling stories with pictures and text, and developing ideas in a free and playful way. The workshop is ideal for those who are always drawing something fun or want to learn how to create funny comics.

The workshops take place in the Pharmacy on the first floor of the museum, and children are advised to be accompanied by an adult. As usual, participation in the art workshops is free of charge for visitors, as is admission to the museum's exhibitions. You are very welcome.
