Hafnarfjörður welcomes Christmas with its annual Christmas village, full of joy, delicious treats and fun Christmas wares, a splendour of lights and a world of wonder in Hellisgerði, Hjartasvelli and so much more.
The Christmas village at Thorsplan in Hafnarfjörður will be open every weekend from 17 November; Fridays from 5 pm to 8 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 pm to 6 pm until Christmas, and until 9 pm on Christmas Eve. The Christmas Village is a hive of festive activity, and the beautifully decorated Christmas houses of Hafnarfjörður have long been nationally renowned for a wide variety of exciting gifts, gourmet treats, crafts and design. It's the perfect place to find the ideal Christmas present while enjoying delicious food to warm you from the inside out. Father Christmas visits on Saturdays, and Gryla will be roaming the town on Sundays. Strandgata becomes a pedestrianised street while the Christmas Village is open, and toilet facilities are available behind Bæjarbíó.
A light weekend schedule
- Friday at 6 p.m. Afternoon Tones at Hafnarborg – Kristjana Stefán with a band. Free admission.
- Friday from 8 pm to 11 pm. Christmas karaoke at Hamran, Hafnarfjörður's youth centre.
- Saturday at 11 a.m. Singing Christmas – a choir concert at Hafnarborg. Free admission.
- Saturday 2-4 pm. Programme on the stage at Thorsplan.

The Coca-Cola Christmas Train - Saturday from 1 pm to 6 pm. Kjötkompaní is offering a delicious Christmas tasting in the experience house at Thorsplan.
- Sunday 11 am - 12 pm. The Fríkirkjan's Christmas party at Thorsplan. Free entry and all welcome.
- Sunday from 1 pm to 6 pm. Fibres present their fireplaces and more exciting things in the Experience House at Thorsplan.

- Thursday – Saturday from 5 pm - 10 pm. Hafnarfjörður's Christmas Heart in an Advent marquee behind the Bæjarbíó cinema. Ideal for mums and dads, grandmas and grandpas, and groups of friends to come along, grab a bite to eat and a Christmas drink.
The Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum is open from 11 am to 5 pm this weekend.
