8:00 – 9:00  Black cats, a full moon and red-headed womenFolklorist Símon Jón Jóhannsson gives a fascinating lecture about his newly published book and guides us through various superstitions.

Folklorist Símon Jón Jóhannsson has written and compiled nearly thirty books on folkloric, historical and literary subjects. He recently published the book Black Cats, Full Moons and Red-Haired Women, which deals with folklore of various kinds. Símon Jón will guide us through the complex, sometimes dangerous and often amusing superstitions that many of us dare not but follow.

9:00 – 9:30  Margrét Lára Jónsdóttir plays the violin and Tómas Vigur Magnús plays the piano, performing a few classical and beautiful pieces at the end of the evening.

Musicians Margrét Lára Jónsdóttir, violinist, and Tómas Vigur Magnússon, pianist, will be giving a concert at the end of the evening in the Packhouse. Their aim is to share classical and timeless music with the public, thereby fostering an interest in the magic of music and the importance of music education for all sections of society.

18:00-22:00  Annríki, national costumes and jewellery display the bathhouse works

Annríki – National Costumes and Jewellery will be at the Sívertsens House on Museum Night. They will arrive in their much-acclaimed national costumes and show us various works that were once made in the winter darkness in the bathhouse. Annríki – National Costumes and Jewellery specialises in all things related to Icelandic national costumes. The company is run by the husband and wife team, Ásmundur Kristjánsson and Guðrún Hildur Rosenkjær. Ásmundur is a mechanical engineer and goldsmith, while Guðrún Hildur Rosenkjær is a master tailor and historian. 18:00-22:00  Magnificent objects in the dark – come and see Beggubúð in the dark

It will be pitch black in the Beggubúð, so you'll need to get out your torch to carefully look at the differences in the shop. It might be tricky to find items for the scavenger hunt in the dark.
