Happiness Walk with Jónatan Garðars on Selhöfði
Saturday, 14th September at 1 p.m.
To conquer a headland, hill or mountain
Join us for a Happiness Walk led by Jónatan Garðarsson at Selhöfði, where history and nature come together to create a memorable experience. This walk is not just an opportunity to explore the beautiful surroundings of Hvaleyrarsel by Lake Hvaleyrarvatn, but also a chance to delve into rich stories and historical relics.
During the walk, participants will hear about the archaeological remains from the time when Hvaleyrar-sæll flourished by Lake Hvaleyrarvatn. Jónatan will share fascinating stories, including the tale of the troll in Lake Hvaleyrarvatn, and the joy of using the cottage during the summer to milk cows and make cottage cheese.
The walk will emphasise the happiness that comes from being outdoors and the sense of achievement that follows conquering even a modest hill like Selhöfði.
After reaching the top, follow the path down into Seldal before returning to the car park. This walk is a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, enjoy the fresh air and celebrate the simple joy of being outdoors.
The walk is relatively easy. It starts at the car park to the west of Hvaleyrarvatn. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to sharing this experience with you!
Jónatan Garðarsson, in collaboration with the Healthy Town of Hafnarfjörður, leads a Happiness Walk at Selhöfði.
