HEIMA is a music festival that offers an intimate experience for performers and guests, as well as a diverse range of music for people of all ages. HEIMA is now being held for the eighth time, on the last day of winter, 19th April in Hafnarfjörður, as it has been every year since 2014. The HEIMA festival has firmly established itself as a fun and unique music festival, offering a different experience and a greater sense of intimacy than concert-goers and artists are generally used to.
As before, residents of Hafnarfjörður will open their homes in the town centre, and in each house, two different artists or bands will play. The Free Church in Hafnarfjörður will be one of the HEIMA – houses, as in previous years, and the festival will also use the stage at the Bæjarbíó, reflecting the festival's diversity – all sorts of venues and all sorts of music.
There are thirteen artists, and they all perform twice in each of the HEIMA houses in the city centre. They are not all playing at the same time, so those who are most diligent about strolling between houses will see the most performances.
The first HEIMA concerts begin at 19:30 in the Free Church, following a very short opening ceremony – and the last ones finish at around 23:00.
Guðrún Árný will reprise her role from last year and host the sing-along after-party at Bæjarbíó, which starts at 23:15 and lasts for at least an hour.
This year's HEIMA performers are:
Sigrún Hjálmtýsdóttir – Diddú
