Come home to the Christmas town of Hafnarfjörður at Advent
Hafnarfjörður welcomes Christmas with its annual Christmas village, full of joy, delicious treats and fun Christmas wares, a splendour of lights and a world of wonder in Hellisgerði, Hjartasvelli and so much more.
The Christmas village at Thorsplan in Hafnarfjörður is open every weekend from 17th November; Fridays from 5 pm - 8 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 pm - 6 pm until Christmas, and until 9 pm on Christmas Eve. The Christmas Village is a hive of festive activity, and the beautifully decorated houses of Hafnarfjörður have long been nationally renowned for a wide variety of exciting gifts, gourmet treats, crafts and design. It's the perfect place to find the ideal Christmas present while enjoying delicious food and drink to warm you from the inside out. Father Christmas visits on Saturdays, and Grýla will be roaming the town on Sundays. Strandgata becomes a pedestrianised street while the Christmas Village is open.
A light schedule for the weekend:
- Friday from 8 pm to 11 pm. Christmas karaoke at Hamrinn, the youth centre of Hafnarfjörður.
- Saturday from 1 pm to 6 pm. Kjötkompaní is offering a delicious Christmas tasting in the experience house at Thorsplan.

- Sunday from 1 pm to 6 pm. Edda's Yarn Shop will be on hand with demonstrations and advice, and will also have a selection of carefully chosen products for sale. The popular EasyCheese will be on sale, and you can sample delicious cheeses.

- Sunday from 1 pm to 6 pm. The cheese and butter stall will be on site, offering tastings to visitors.

- Sunday at 4 p.m. Beautifully decorated homes and businesses in Hafnarfjörður will be awarded on stage just before the Christmas carol singing with Guðrún Árnýja begins at 4 p.m. on Thorsplani.
Thursday – Saturday from 5 pm - 10 pm. Hafnarfjörður's Christmas Heart in the festive marquee behind the Bæjarbíó. Ideal for mums and dads, grandmas and grandpas, and groups of friends to come along and enjoy a bite to eat and a Christmas drink.
The Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum is open from 11 am to 5 pm this weekend.
