A festive programme in the heart of Hafnarfjörður on the opening evening!
The Christmas Village in Hafnarfjörður It will be opened with a festive programme on Thorsplan on Friday, 15th November, when the lights will be switched on at the Cuxhaven Christmas tree. The German Ambassador, the Mayor of Hafnarfjörður and the chairman of the Hafnarfjörður-Cuxhaven twinning association will switch on the lights on the tree. The Christmas tree is a gift from Cuxhaven, Hafnarfjörður's German twin town for 36 years, and will illuminate the Christmas Village in its new location in December.

The Christmas Village at Thorsplan in Hafnarfjörður will be open every weekend from 15th November onwards. Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The café in Hellisgerði will be open during the Christmas Village's opening hours, and always until 20:00 on those evenings. Please note that the Heart Slide and the funfair by the Venusarhúsið at 11 Strandgata are open every weekend leading up to Christmas.
There will also be a programme in Firði on the opening night.
