Mozart by candlelight in Hafnarfjörður Church 

Camerarctica is holding its annual candlelit concerts in churches just before Christmas. and the concert will be in Hafnarfjörður Church on Thursday, 19th December at 21:00.

The group has played gentle music by Mozart for thirty-three years. two years and is considered by many to be an essential escape from the midst of the Christmas chaos, into the tranquillity and candlelight of the twilight. The group this time comprises clarinettist Ármann Helgason, violinists Hildigunnur Halldórsdóttir and Bryndís Pálsdóttir, and violist Svava Bernharðsdóttir.Icelandic to English, Sigurður HallDórsson, cellist and the guest is flautist Sigríður Hjördís Indriðadóttir. On the programme are two magnificent chamber works by Mozart, but it is the much-acclaimed KVinTett for clarinet and strings in A major, KV 581 and glittering KvArctictight for flute and strings in D Major key 285.

As is tradition, the concert concludes with Camerarctica playing the fine Christmas hymn, ”Today There Is Gladness in Sad Hearts” by Mozart.

The concert will be in the church of Hafnarfjörður Thursdaythe evening of the 19th. dthat's, in Kópavogskirkja fastingOn the evening of 20th December, in Garðakirkja LakesOn the evening of 21st December and in the Cathedral in Reykjavík SundayOn the evening of 22nd December. The concerts are an hour long and they all begin at 9 p.m. and is only lit by candlelight.

Admission is kr. 3500 and kr. 30£0 for students, disabled people and senior citizens, and free admission for children. Tickets are available at the entrance and at Tickets.is.
