Notice of planning – City of Hafnarfjörður

An open house will be held on Tuesday, 11 August 2026, from 09:00 to 15:30 at Norðurhellu 2, 221 Hafnarfjörður, where the proposal for the amended detailed plan can be viewed.

Further details: The Town Council, acting on behalf of the Municipal Council, approved at its meeting on 25 June 2026 that a proposal for an amendment to the detailed plan for the Vesturbær area of Hafnarfjörður, concerning Merkurgata, be published in accordance with 1. subsection 1 of Article 43 of the Planning Act no. 123/2010.

The change consists of the neighbourhood square being transformed into a tarmacked area with parking spaces and flowerbeds.

During the consultation period from 23.07.2026 to 6.09.2026, the proposal can be accessed on the HMS planning portal at https://skipulagsgatt.is/, case no. 879/2026.
