Does being outdoors and gardening affect people's lifestyles? Why should we cultivate our environment? Ingibjörg Valgeirsdóttir from Saga Story House and Guðríður Helgadóttir, a horticulturalist, will lead an enjoyable educational evening on behalf of the health town of Hafnarfjörður and answer these questions, Ingibjörg will open and chair the meeting, and Gurrý will give a talk on the value of gardening from various perspectives, such as shelter, beauty, the great outdoors, exercise, health, joy and satisfaction, seasoned with examples from daily life of varying seriousness.
The Healthy Town of Hafnarfjörður is hosting an educational evening at Bæjarbíó in the heart of Hafnarfjörður, aimed at everyone interested in fitness and health improvement who wants to learn about the effects of the outdoors and exercise. In recent years, the Healthy Town has organised lectures and educational events at the Bæjarbíó, covering everything to do with health and wellbeing. Now, it's time to look at growing flowers, shrubs and vegetables, as well as self-cultivation.
This educational evening and initiative by the Healthy City of Hafnarfjörður is part of promoting the health of the residents of Hafnarfjörður and friends of the city, and aligns with the health strategy that the municipality formulated in 2016. One of the three overarching goals of the health strategy is to promote and enhance the well-being of residents in a diverse manner.
