At its meeting on 22 April 2026, the Hafnarfjörður Town Council resolved to advertise an amendment to the detailed plan for the Industrial Area east of Reykjavíkurbryggja, in accordance with section 1 of article 43 of the Planning Act No. 123/2010.
The development consists of the construction of 4–5 storey blocks with a basement, comprising a total of 240 flats and 600 m² of commercial space. The buildings will surround a courtyard that opens up to the east, connecting to a green recreational corridor. Emphasis is placed on a diverse range of flats in terms of size and type.
A proposal for a revised local plan will be presented at an information meeting on Tuesday, 19 May, between 15:30 and 16:30 at Norðurhæll 2 in Hafnarfjörður.
During the consultation period from 7 May to 24 June 2026, the proposal can be accessed on the planning portal website at https://skipulagsgatt.is/, case no. 504/2026.
