A nine-stop scavenger hunt now adorns the area around Hvaleyrarvatn. The Hvaleyrarvatn scavenger hunt is designed to make family walks around the lake even more lively and to draw attention to interesting places.

A nine-stop scavenger hunt now graces the area around Hvaleyrarvatn. The game has been set up by Hönnunarhúsið ehf. for the Healthy Town of Hafnarfjörður. The man behind the design is Guðni Gíslason, who is, among other things, the editor of Fjarðarfréttir.

The rat race at Hvaleyrarvatn is intended to encourage walking around the lake and draw attention to interesting places. It is also intended to give parents an opportunity for some wholesome time together with their children. The route from the first sign to the ninth is approximately 2.2 km, and the full circuit is about 2.7 km.
