Sunday, 19th March at 2 p.m. We welcome visitors to a gallery talk on the occasion of the final day of the exhibition. Joking, where works by Sóley Eiríksdóttir (1957-1994) can be seen: both sculptures, pottery and two-dimensional works. The works span Sóley's short but powerful career, and last year Hafnarborg received a generous donation of artworks, a selection of powerful concrete sculptures by the artist. Then they will Aldís Arnardóttir and Adalheidur Valgeirsdottir, curators, and Jon Axel Björnsson, an artist, guides visitors through the exhibition and seeks to shed light on the life and work of Sóley.

Sóley Eiríksdóttir She studied at the Metalworking Department of the Technical College in Hafnarfjörður for one year after her studies at Flensborg School. In 1975, she began her studies at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, first in the teacher training department, before graduating from the school's ceramics department in 1981. Sóley exhibited her work widely during her short career, including at Kjarvalsstaðir, Hafnarborg, Langbrók Gallery and the ASÍ Art Museum, as well as holding exhibitions in the United States, Finland, Luxembourg, Canada and Germany.
