Friday, 10 March at 6 p.m. will the saxophonist Olafur Jónsson will appear at the next Síðdegistónar concert in Hafnarborg, along with his quartet. Ólafur has been involved in many aspects of the Icelandic music scene and has played with the cream of Icelandic musicians. He released his first album, The time has come, in 2017, and for which he received a nomination for the Icelandic Music Awards for composition as well as for the record itself. The concert will feature a mix of his own compositions from the aforementioned album alongside well-known jazz standards.
Along with Ólafur appear Andrés Þór Gunnlaugsson, guitarist, the bassist Thorgrimur Jónsson and Erik Quick who plays the drums.
The concert lasts for about an hour and is free of charge.
The concert series is sponsored by the City of Hafnarfjörður, the Rannís Music Fund and the FÍH Cultural Fund.
