Information session for parents, guardians and all interested parties
Health solutions Visit all Year 9 classes in Hafnarfjörður's state schools with the VELDU substance misuse education programme. The programme aims to inform about the harm and addiction associated with substance misuse, and to strengthen self-esteem. The education is delivered by nurses, and all teaching materials are based on evidence-based and recent sources. This year, we would like to draw special attention to this programme, which is being offered, as well as inviting all parents of children and young people in the secondary school years to an information session on the subject.
At the meeting, Heilsulausnir will tell us about the education young people receive and also give parents good advice in the conversation. The more we empower in our conversations with our young people, the more effective the prevention. Stella Björg Kristinsdóttir, Manager of Leisure Activities and Prevention for the City of Hafnarfjörður, will review what the figures are telling us and how we can better support our young people.
Let's have a chat and learn. Admission is free and all interested are welcome.
Together, we are the village – join us!
