Exciting summer jobs for students – some examples
A variety of jobs will be available with the City of Hafnarfjörður for students who have been studying in the spring term 2021 or are enrolled for the autumn term 2021. The group will be based in the workplace or in the innovation studio at the Learning Centre by the Stream. The application deadline is 16 May.
A variety of jobs will be available with the City of Hafnarfjörður in the summer of 2021 for students who have been studying in the spring term 2021 or are enrolled in studies for the autumn term 2021. These are summer jobs related to government measures and aims to promote the effectiveness and future growth of Icelandic business. The City of Hafnarfjörður is actively participating in the project and will hire at least 80 employees through this initiative, in addition to the hires made through the Hafnarfjörður Summer Job Scheme. The application deadline is 16th May.
Innovation Lab at the Learning Centre by the Stream
The group will be based in their workplace or in the innovation studio at the Learning Centre by the Stream, where they will undertake a variety of enjoyable summer jobs, e.g. in the fields of environment and infrastructure, information technology, education, family affairs, cultural affairs and health promotion. Applicants submit an open application for a summer position, after which they are matched with a role deemed suitable for their experience, education and skills.

The Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum is responsible for the registration of archaeological sites in
the town's open space, but the idea behind this project is also to compile a register of

Do you want to take part in ambitious and challenging projects?
Hafnarfjörður is seeking applications from students who are ready to take part in ambitious and challenging projects this summer. Applicants must be 18 years of age in 2021 (born 2003) or older, and have been in education during the spring term of 2021 or be enrolled in a course for the autumn term of 2021. The application must be accompanied by proof of enrolment from the applicant's educational institution and a detailed CV. The appointment is for a two-month period between 1 June and 31 August. The work is varied, and we will endeavour to accommodate applicants' interests as far as possible.
Educational and competency requirements:
- Applicants must be enrolled in a course of study or graduating in the spring term of 2021.
- Independent and organised working methods
- A good service attitude and interpersonal skills
- Communication skills, accuracy and resourcefulness
- Good general computer knowledge
- Good command of Icelandic and English, both spoken and written.
