The community gardens are open to all residents, regardless of age, and this is a great opportunity for families and others to grow their own vegetables and look after them over the summer.
The family parks will be open at Víðistaðir, and if there is high demand, there is a possibility of opening one at the top of Öldugata. The cost is 1,500 kr. for one garden and 2,500 kr. for two gardens. Unlike previous years, vegetables or other materials are not included, but access to water and basic tools will be provided. The gardens will be ploughed and allocations will begin at the end of May.
