Find happiness at the town cinema on Tuesday evening
„We need to love ourselves, learn to form connections and be part of a community where we solve problems together,“ says Linda Baldvinsdóttir, a communications consultant and coach. She is, along with a number of experts, organising the search for happiness at Bæjarbíó on Tuesday evening, 17th September at 8 p.m.
Fighting loneliness on Happy Days
„Loneliness is like a COVID pandemic; it spreads rapidly and is increasing dramatically,“ says Linda Baldvinsdóttir, a communication consultant and coach. It is estimated that around a fifth of Icelanders over the age of 67 often or sometimes experience loneliness. Linda says that in her counselling, she finds a great imbalance in the modern lives of people of all ages. „People are just so busy.“ This is stated in a press release.
Linda is going to kick up a fuss. A happy evening at the Town Cinema Tuesday, 17th September. The undertone is serious, loneliness but happiness will take precedence on Happy days in Hafnarfjörður.
„We are going to find the path to happiness. Connection, ways out of loneliness and cultivating self-love will be the topics,“ she says, and the event is being held during the Happiness Days in Hafnarfjörður, on Tuesday, 17 September at 8 p.m.
A number of good speakers
The evening is packed with lovely people who are fun to share:
- Adalbjörg Stefanía Helgadóttir, a nurse and author of the book 'Lonely', discusses ways out of loneliness.
- Theodore Francis Birgisson, a consultant and a weekly guest on The Beat on Bylgjan, talks about relationships in a light-hearted way.
- Sigga Kling, A writer and lecturer, gives us the path to happiness.
- Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir The mayor opens and Guðrún Árný The singer frames the evening by leading a sing-along and a celebration. She herself speaks Linda Baldvinsdóttir about self-love.
„We are looking towards health. We look realistically at the fact that modern times breed anxiety and loneliness, and we give up the path to a happier life.“
Happy days in September
Happiness Days in Hafnarfjörður are taking place in September. They are now being held for the second time, but the idea was conceived last year in response to certain indications that the nation's happiness index was declining. The Healthy City of Hafnarfjörður is organising a variety of events to promote a positive outlook and contribute to better mental and physical well-being – increasing happiness.
„We need to love ourselves, learn to form connections and be part of a community where we solve problems together,“ says Linda.
