Bjössi Thor and Robben Ford visit the Hafnarfjörður Music School
The Hafnarfjörður Music Festival, Guitarama, Bjössi Thor's guitar festival will take place at the Bæjarbíó on the 11th and 12th of November, when Björn Thoroddsen, along with his distinguished entourage, will be holding a major concert. This year's guest of honour will be Robben Ford, who is without a doubt one of the most talented guitarists in the world today and will be visiting Iceland for the second time. Robben is a blues guitarist at heart, and his collaborators over the years say it all: Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, George Harrison, KISS and Björn Thoroddsen.
A magical musical experience for the audience
This week, students of the Hafnarfjörður Music School had the opportunity to meet Robben Ford and Bjössi Thor, as the festival is organising various events at the Music School, the youth centre Hamran, and Hrafnista in the run-up to the concerts. The event at the music school was a collaboration between the Hafnarfjörður Music School, the Garðabær Music School, the Reykjanesbær Music School, the Garður Music School and the Mosfellsbær School of Arts.
The Guitar Festival is organised with the aim of creating a magical musical experience for the audience, with the guitar taking centre stage. It's shaping up to be a real fireworks display this year, as the house band, Guitarama, has rarely been tighter, and Guitar Islandico will also be taking to the stage.
