Fourteen podcast episodes have already been released!

In August 2019, the decision was made to launch a new way of providing information to the people of Hafnarfjörður and friends of the town, and in September 2019 the podcast Vitinn was launched. In 'The Lighthouse', the council's diverse services are covered, giving listeners the opportunity to get to know the professionals who work behind the scenes on ambitious projects and service delivery across a wide range of areas. 

In August 2019, a decision was made to launch a new approach to providing information to the residents of Hafnarfjörður and other stakeholders of the City of Hafnarfjörður, and in September 2019, a search began. The Lighthouse podcast brought to light. In the Vitans programme, the council's diverse services are covered, giving listeners the opportunity to get to know the professionals who work behind the scenes on ambitious projects and service delivery across a wide range of areas.  The next episode will air on 10 January 2020.

Í Vitanum, the podcast of Hafnarfjörður Municipality, The council's diverse services are explored through a good chat with interesting individuals who all have one thing in common: they work with passion and integrity for the benefit of the town. The curators of Vitan this month have been two: Sigurjón Ólafsson, Director of the Service and Development Department, and Árdís Ármannsdóttir, the council's Communications Manager. The curators of The Lighthouse are sailing happily into the new year and are looking with pride and great satisfaction at the fourteen episodes that have already been aired. Through good conversation with colleagues, Sigurjón and Árdís have covered, among other things, the town's history, St. Jó's Wellbeing Centre, the cultural city of Hafnarfjörður, issues concerning asylum seekers and refugees, planning matters, the service centre's projects, an education strategy in the making, culture and the arts, innovation in school activities and new teaching methods, the importance of music, the city's human resources and the municipality as a workplace, the introduction of mindfulness into school work, non-verbal communication, and it was the Mayor of Hafnarfjörður, Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir, who visited Vitann in the final episode of 2019.

Interesting aspects in the preparation and shaping of a new year

The first episode of 2020 will be released on Friday, 10 January, and the Vitan's guest in that episode will be Hulda Björk Finnsdóttir, project manager for Brúin at Hafnarfjörður Municipality. More interesting episodes are in the planning and development stages for the coming weeks and months. Thus, Geir Bjarnason, the Sports and Leisure Officer for the City of Hafnarfjörður, will in January, among other things, discuss prevention and the Healthy City of Hafnarfjörður, and Björn Bögeskov will talk about the projects of the City of Hafnarfjörður's Service Centre. There is plenty to cover, and residents of Hafnarfjörður and other stakeholders are encouraged to listen to the episodes to learn even more about the municipality's diverse services.
