Come and cross-country ski in Hafnarfjörður 

The people of Hafnarfjörður are experiencing a proper winter wonderland these days. A beautiful layer of snow covers everything, opening up opportunities for practising winter sports such as cross-country skiing. Skates and snowmobiles have been brought out, and now the snow cover is so deep that it is perfectly possible to get the cross-country skis out as well. To cater for the outdoor and exercise needs of enthusiastic cross-country skiers, the Keilir Golf Club,  in collaboration with the City of Hafnarfjörður, has laid out a cross-country ski trail at Óla Run field. A trail has also been laid out at Hvaleyrarvellir, but as of today, the conditions are better at Óla Run field.

Cross-country skiing has enjoyed ever-growing popularity in recent years, and the residents of Hafnarfjörður and friends of the town are among its active practitioners. It is the ideal sport for the whole family, combining togetherness, the great outdoors, exercise and a whole lot of fresh air.
