For the past ten years, the school community at Áslandsskóli; teachers, parents and pupils, has supported the Mother's Pension Committee of Hafnarfjörður with voluntary donations at Christmas. Representatives of the committee came to a Christmas party at Ásland School today, Tuesday, 20th December, and accepted the donation from the head teacher, Leifur S. Garðarsson. This year, 318,746 krónur were collected. Over ten years, the school community at Áslandsskóli has therefore donated a total of 2,417,441.- krónur to the Mæðrastyrksnefnd. This thoughtfulness towards those less fortunate is linked to one of the school's four cornerstones: service to the community.
