Mayor Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir took receipt of the Orkusalan's green shoots from the company's energy advisor, who is travelling around the country to present all the nation's municipalities with shoots for planting. This is a Sitka spruce, which the horticultural manager will plant in Vigdísarlundur in Víðistaðatún.
Since Orkusalan was founded, the company has cultivated a forest at Skeiðsfoss Power Station, and last year its employees and their families planted over a thousand saplings in the forest.
Hafnarfjörður thanks Orkusalan for the green branches.
