Hafnarfjörður on the SÁÁ team

News

The Borough of Hafnarfjörður has now acquired one of SÁÁ's large elves. The borough is thus supporting the treatment work, as the sale of the elves is SÁÁ's most important fundraiser.

Another elf was added to our strong elven community of Hafnarfjörður this morning. Mayor Valdimar Víðisson then welcomed the big elf from SÁÁ, thereby showing the town's support for the treatment hospital's 2025 elf sale.

Stefán Pálsson, Marketing Manager for SÁÁ, came bearing the big gavel. „We are very grateful to the town for standing with us in this important campaign,“ he says on behalf of SÁÁ. „Thank you, Hafnarfjörður – this matters.“

Important fundraising

The Elf Sale 2025 has been running for the past few days. The proceeds from the sale are intended to support the treatment work of SÁÁ. This year, the Elf is wearing the national team kit to celebrate our girls' qualification for the football European Championship this summer. Two versions of the Elf were released this year, blue and white, and the two have an amusing interaction in the Elf's advertising campaign, where the Elf comes to life in a puppet-like costume.

The Elf Sale is SÁÁ's most important fundraiser and enables SÁÁ to maintain its robust treatment work, which has helped thousands of Icelanders. This is the 39th time the Elf Sale has taken place.

SÁÁ runs the Vog hospital in Reykjavík and the Vík treatment centre on Kjalarnes. The organisation also runs the Vin halfway house and outpatient clinics in Reykjavík and Akureyri.

We welcome the new elf and say thank you for the hard work.
