Hafnarfjörður style 2022 and golden glamour

Stíll is a design competition between youth clubs where teams compete in hairstyling, make-up, presentation and fashion design based on a specific theme. This year's theme was chosen by the SAMFÉS youth council and was “gilded age”. Hafnarfjarðarstíll 2022 took place with pomp and circumstance on the 2nd of December at Lækjarskóli, and attendance exceeded the highest expectations. The teams were composed of 2–4 teenagers, including their model. Competitors were given two hours to prepare their model for the show.

All competitors will have the opportunity to take part in a SAMFÉS-style event for all youth clubs.

All competitors then get the opportunity to take part in the SAMFÉS style competition, in which youth clubs from all over the country participate. For the main competition, competitors also need to submit a design portfolio explaining the concept behind their design. The aim of Stíll is to harness the creative talents of young people and to encourage them to create art in an original way. Many secondary schools across the country offer a Stíll elective course, which gives competitors the opportunity to work on their designs during school hours.

The judges were Alma Björgvinsdóttir, a hairdresser and make-up artist, and Daníel Kristinn Pétursson, a stylist. The winners in 2022 are listed below.

• Best hair: Gold Pearls. Competitors: Karen Birna Einarsdóttir Stephensen, Katrín Björt Sigmarsdóttir, Kristbjörg Aðalheiður Guðjónsdóttir, Dalía Mist Davíðsdóttir from the youth centre Ásnum
• Behaviour: Booboo Bears. Competitors: Andrea L. Hafdal Kristinsdóttir, Natalía Rós Rakelardóttir, Elisabeth Rós Sverrisdóttir Berger and Alex Hlyns from the youth centre Setrinu.
• Make-up: The Smurfs. Competitors: Katrín Rós Arnórsdóttir, Guðbjörg Diljá Ásudóttir, Guðrún Emma Grönqvist and Guðrún Salvör Ólafsdóttir from the youth club Öldan.
• Design: Mystery. Competitors: Aníta Ösp Antoniussen, model, Olivia Boc, Roksana Jaros and Marija Ivanova from the youth centre Mosani.
