30000

The 30,000th resident of Hafnarfjörður is a little girl born on 15th October, daughter of Helga Rún Halldórsdóttir and Sigurður Fannar Grétarsson. The couple already have a five-year-old son and bought their first flat in the south town of Hafnarfjörður about a year ago. Helga Rún was born and raised in Hafnarfjörður, but Sigurður is from Ísafjörður. Little Miss Sigurðardóttir received a certificate and an artwork from her town to mark her as the 30,000th resident. Her big brother received a beautiful book as a gift, and the presents for his little sister included eco-friendly items: a washcloth, a towel and her first toothbrush. Together, the family received the book 'Ró' by Eva Rún Þorgeirsdóttir and Bergrún Íris, which contains simple exercises for children and adults to induce relaxation and inner calm. The family gave a warm welcome to the mayor and his entourage.
