Zoning amendment

At the town council meeting on 18 September 2019, it was resolved to advertise amendments to the detailed plan for the Haukasi area at Ásvellir 1 in Hafnarfjörður, in accordance with section 1 of article 43 of the Planning Act No. 123/2010.

The change consists of: A new plot is defined for residential development to the west of the sports centre. The scheme provides for 100–110 dwellings, or approximately 10,000 m² of gross floor area on the site. The buildings will be 2 to 5 storeys high. A car park of 90 spaces will be provided underground, with a further 60 spaces allocated above ground.

A multi-purpose sports hall, which was originally planned for the south of the artificial turf pitch, will now be located at the northern end of the site. Its height will be 25m at the centre and 12m at the sides. The building plot has an area of 13,050m² and the hall will have a net area of 9,900m². Adjacent to the sports hall, a 900m² service building will be constructed within the same building plot. The ridge height of the service building will be 5m. Approximately 230 new parking spaces are proposed to the west and north of the sports hall. In all other respects, the existing provisions of the detailed plan will apply.

The proposals will be on display at the Hafnarfjörður Service Centre, Strandgata 6, and at the Department of Environment and Planning, Norðurhellu 2, from 11 November to 23 December 2019. The proposals can also be viewed below:

Those who consider themselves to have an interest are given the opportunity to make comments on the amendment, which must be submitted in writing to the Environment and Planning Department of Hafnarfjörður Municipality no later than 23 December 2019.
