Review of the detailed plan for Hellnahraun Phase 3 in Hafnarfjörður
Borgahella, Dofrahella, Búðahella, Straumhella 1-8
On 8 January 2020, the Hafnarfjörður Town Council approved the publication of a proposal for an amended detailed plan for Phase 3 of Hellnahraun, in accordance with Article 43, paragraph 1 of the Planning Act No. 123/2010. This concerns the eastern part of the area, i.e. the part of the detailed plan that includes all plots at Borgahella, Dofrahella and Búðahella, along with the plots at Straumhella 1–8. According to the 2013–2025 Master Plan for Hafnarfjörður, the area falls under land-use category AT3, industrial area.
The amendment to the detailed plan involves increasing the number of plots in the area by 8, expanding building plots, permitting the amalgamation of plots, and allowing the construction of structures up to 12 m high. The plot ratio will remain unchanged. The proposal will be on display at the Hafnarfjörður Service Centre, 6 Strandgata, and at the Environmental and Planning Department, 2 Norðurhellu, from 12 February to 25 March 2020. Those who consider themselves to have an interest are given the opportunity to make comments on the amendment, which must be submitted in writing to the Environment and Planning Department of Hafnarfjörður no later than 25 March 2020.
