Assessment of applications

Hafnarfjörður's Culture and Tourism Committee awards grants
from the House Preservation Fund, following a report from the Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum. Applications are assessed in terms of their preservation value, e.g. for architectural, cultural-historical, environmental, and authenticity reasons, as well as their technical condition, and their value for the preservation of Hafnarfjörður's architectural heritage. Priority will be given to funding works that restore the external appearance of buildings, such as windows and cladding, to its original state. Applications for works that constitute routine maintenance are generally not eligible for a grant.

Further information about the fund can be found in Regulations of the Hafnarfjörður Building Preservation Fund
