Recreational Mass 29 August

The knights with horses, the scouts with an outdoor kitchen, the birch-planters putting up a climbing wall, and the ice-hockey club with a goal and a goalie. Yes, our first Leisure Mass here in Hafnarfjörður is taking shape.

That's not all, as the Sailing Club will have a kayak and demonstrate how the sail works on boats. The Boxing Club plans to set up a training boxing ring.

Fifteen clubs will be at the Leisure Activities Fair, which will be held in the sports hall at Strandgata on the 29th of August. This is a perfect opportunity to introduce our children to the town's wide range of sports and leisure clubs. All in one place. Yes, find the activity that best suits each child.

Leisure Activities Fair is part of the City of Hafnarfjörður's strategy to support the health, activity and well-being of children and young people. As a healthy city, Hafnarfjörður emphasises that all children have the opportunity to be active, form social connections and thrive in their own way.

„The most important thing is that every child finds a hobby that sparks their interest, boosts their self-confidence and becomes part of a good daily routine.“ says Tinna Rós Steinsdóttir, sports officer for the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður. She says that participation in leisure activities has an impact far beyond the training or the activity itself.

Are you sure you're taking the time out? It's worth it.
