Hafnarfjörður Choir Fund
The Culture and Tourism Committee of Hafnarfjörður is inviting applications for the Hafnarfjörður Choir Fund.
The Hafnarfjörður Choir Fund supports a strong and diverse choir scene in the town.
The aim of the fund is to promote regular choir work and to strengthen the cultural and social values that choirs create for residents of all ages.
The Cultural and Tourism Committee invites applications annually. Contracts may be awarded for one to three years at a time, subject to the annual approval of the budget. Further information on the allocation rules for grants from the Hafnarfjörður Choir Fund.
Who can apply?
An operating grant is awarded to choirs that:
- have a permanent and regular presence in Hafnarfjörður
- hold regular rehearsals and engage in active choir work
- have demonstrated their value to the town's cultural life
No funding is provided for individuals' travel, study or retraining, nor for individual events.
- What needs to be included in the application?
- Description of the choir and its activities
- Aims and role in the cultural life of Hafnarfjörður
- Number of participants and target group
- Overview of regular activities (rehearsals, concerts, etc.)
- Amount of funding applied for
- Operating plan or operating overview
- Information on alternative financing
The Culture and Tourism Committee assesses applications. Consideration is given to activity and continuity of work, artistic and social quality, organisation and operational feasibility, as well as the importance of the choir to the cultural life of Hafnarfjörður.
Recipients commit to:
- appear at least once a year at an event organised by the town or in partnership with it
- can support the City of Hafnarfjörður in promotional material
