The Department of Environment and Planning uses personally identifiable information provided for planning observations (identification number, name and email address) to process the observations and to identify the individual. This is in accordance with the Planning Act No. 123/2010 and is based on the authority in item 3 of Article 9 of the Act on Personal Data Protection and Processing of Personal Data No. 90/2018. Data are retained for 30 years and, after this period, are transferred to the National Archives of Iceland in accordance with the Public Records Act No. 77/2014. You have the right to lodge a complaint regarding the processing of personal data with the Icelandic Data Protection Authority.

Comments are considered public information in all planning proceedings and, among other things, the names of interested parties are published online in the minutes of the Planning and Building Committee and the Environment and Operations Committee.
