Increased emphasis on responding by phone, chat and email

In light of the public health emergency currently in effect due to the COVID-19 virus, residents and other customers who have business with the service desk and service centre of the City of Hafnarfjörður are encouraged to send an email to hafnarfjordur@hafnarfjordur.is, chat with staff via our website's live chat www.hafnarfjordur.is or call 585-5500 to limit visits to our premises.

We would like to point residents and other customers to the fact that detailed information about the council's activities can be found on the City of Hafnarfjörður's website. www.hafnarfjordur.is in addition to applications and data on My Pages . You can also find the online chat, which is open during the same hours as the customer service department, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every weekday. The City of Hafnarfjörður also maintains a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/hafnarfjardarbaer/ and there, residents and customers can submit a message which will be answered during the service desk's opening hours.

Due to the COVID-19 disease, during the current response phase in Iceland, the Emergency phase, inhabitants and other guests who need to contact the Hafnarfjörður Municipality Offices are kindly asked to contact Hafnarfjörður by e-mail: hafnarfjordur@hafnarfjordur.is or by phone on 585-5500 to reduce visits to our Municipal Offices.

On the City of Hafnarfjörður's website, customers can contact our Service Centre via web chat (Icelandic: “netspjall'), which is open during the same hours as our Service Centre, from 08:00 to 16:00 on all weekdays. The City of Hafnarfjörður is also on Facebook, and messages sent via our Facebook page are replied to during office hours.
