There was a truly international festive atmosphere at Hraunvallaskóli at the end of last week when CISV, an international children's summer camp, invited visitors to get a glimpse into a unique world of friendship, diversity and peace.

It was a truly international festive atmosphere at Hraunvallaskóli at the end of last week when CISV, an international children's summer camp, invited visitors to get a glimpse into a unique world of friendship, diversity and peace. This summer, children and young people from 14 countries have taken part in the CISV summer camp in Hafnarfjörður. They have had the opportunity to learn about different cultures, build friendships and experience how enjoyable it is to work together with an open mind and respect. At the open house, the participants shared their cultures with traditional costumes, music, dance and song, as well as letting guests taste all sorts of treats from their home countries. This was a unique opportunity to experience a small part of the global journey that CISV summer camps represent. CISV is an international peace organisation that focuses on peace through friendship and understanding between nations – and the summer camps are a living example of this important work.
